Clarkston is named after William Clark, of the Lewis and Clark Expedition fame! The duo passed westbound by canoe in 1805.

This cute and charming town is also known as The Gateway to Hells Canyon – which is 2,000 feet deeper than the Grand Canyon, and is actually North America’s deepest river gorge. Hells Gate State Park offers jaw-dropping views of the Snake River. Swim at the beach, or take a jet boat tour!

If you’re in town during the winter months, be sure to check out Clarkston’s Vernon Park to take in all of the beautiful winter wonderland of lights for the Christmas season. In the spring, the Asotin County Fair holds the rodeo and excitement for the whole family!
